The Back Barn (sleeps 4) – Beautiful Cromer barn

The Back Barn is a super holiday cottage in Cromer.   Recently built it is beautifully presented, with a lovely bright and sunny feel from the moment you walk in.  The Back Barn is owned by Christine and Simon, and is a much loved holiday bolt hole for them, and their family.

With wooden floors to the main room, and tiled flooring in the kitchen and hallway, it is great for dogs and children. Especially with the French Doors leading directly onto the very safe fully enclosed garden.  The decor in the sitting room has a Scandi feel to it and is very comfortable.

The house is situated approximately  a mile from the town centre and a walk of about 20 minutes.  You can also walk down the hill to the area known as Happy Valley, which was the original Victorian pleasure garden, that is at the top of the cliffs with access to the beach. Again about a 20 minute walk.

There are two bathrooms, one with bath and one ensuite shower room, so no arguing over who has the bathroom in the mornings!

A lovely sunny spacious holiday cottage, with a safe enclosed garden

So much more space than we expected, the garden was great in the evenings as we could relax knowing everyone was safe and couldn’t get out! Thank you.

Cromer is a traditional and elegant Victorian seaside resort, much lauded in the past, which is reflected in its magnificent architecture.  Here you can find sandy beaches, fish and chips and of course the famous Pier, which children love to catch crabs from with a piece of string and some bacon.

Further afield you have Sheringham with the Norfolk Steam Railway, and if you venture further East you will be rewarded with empty beaches, seals and peace and quiet

Recently, Cromer has had a big resurgence in popularity and exposure as a real destination holiday town.  The BBC recently used the Pier as it’s focus for the Christmas indents, and the Antiques Road Show was filmed there during the last summer.

The carnival is a highlight of the year, although there is something going on most weekends, and is now into its 50th year. Cromer still has the luxury of a railway station that links to mainline stations at Norwich, just 45 minutes away.
